The National NTMA office announced last week that the NTMA, along with the Fabricators & Manufacturers Association (FMA), the U.S. Commerce Department’s Hollings Manufacturing Extension Partnership (MEP), and the Manufacturing Institute, will sponsor MANUFACTURING DAY on October 5, 2012.
So, what is Manufacturing Day? It’s an opportunity to showcase the importance of manufacturing to the U.S. Economy and Highlight the job opportunities for skilled workers in our industry.
As an area manufacturer, this is a great opportunity to get the community and your elected officials inside your company for a first hand look at what happens inside your buildings, shops and factories. With more than a month to plan and organize you have plenty of time to schedule tours and open houses. Offer to make presentations at your child’s school or your local Rotary meeting. Send out invitations to your elected officials– local, state and federal. Additionally, you can get your open house and events on the calendar being published by the sponsoring organizations and piggy-back on the national promotion. For more information, visit:
